Travel to Michigan

6/26/2016

June 14 we drove to Ohio and stayed at the Black Swan. Our plan is to ride the Michigan Shore to Shore ride in honor of Davis and Norma Reaser. My parents did this ride for many years and I decided to spread their ashes throughout the trail.
Thanks to our sponsors EponaShoe who provided the shoes for our horses and to Hawthorne products who provided us with products to keep our horses comfortable and sound. We will be evaluating the products and will tell you how they worked for our horses.

Black Swan was a beautiful farm in Ohio. We stayed for a day with David and Brenda who own the farm. We had a chance to ride in their indoor ring and their trails.

,Many of you know that Kim McColman and I are about to head out for an adventure that will take place from June 14-July 10. I have been fortunate enough to have a great and cool friend to make this journey with me. Thank You Kim for being Brave! Our plan is to keep you updated with our progress of a 220 mile trail ride. We will post pictures and videos along the way, so check back frequently to follow our adventure.

Our adventure consists of doing the Michigan Shore to Shore ride. We will be going East to West across Michigan. Our horses Dakota and DEM Rayo have no idea why we signed them up for this month long trip. They both have been shod in EponaShoes for the trip. I bet we will have 2 very tired and well behaved horses when we return!

If you would like to learn more about the Shore to Shore ride we will be doing, please click on the link or you can do a google search. It has been going on for many years and you will have no problem finding the information!

If you click on the map link it will show all of our stops to and through Michigan. Hopefully when we decide on our route home we will be able to put that on our map as well. The route home is still a work in progress.
Here is our map link.

My reason for wanting to do this ride is because my Parents did this together for many years and I never got the opportunity to do it with them. I will be scattering their ashes as we make our way across Michigan. My hopes is that I can lighten my heart by leaving them across a trail that they loved to ride!

Once we are finished with our little trail ride we have Ferry tickets for our horses and we will take a boat to stay on Mackinac Island. We have a bed/breakfast/stall reservations to celebrate 4th of July weekend! No vehicles are allowed. Only horses and Bicycles. Rumor has it that the Fudge is to die for. I really doubt any of the fudge will make it back to NC, so do not plan on getting a sample!

While we are on our trip we have some products that have generously been donated to us by Kim Hobson with Hawthorne Products. We will be using these items and you will learn first hand how they worked for us and how you can obtain these items for your use. Joe Police with EponaShoe has provided our shoes and they will be put to the test covering over 220 miles.

I would be amiss if I did not thank the many people who are keeping my business going in my absence. Thank You Daniel Bohland, Stacey Blackwell, Lilliane Moore and Kurt Vom'Orde. Please, if you see them, Thank them for going the extra mile! They are doing me a huge favor by keeping all my clients happy!.

Oh and of course our Husbands Richard McColman and David Miller who had to stay home and keep care of everything we are escaping! We love you!!!!
